Michal Špaňár appointed Chief Executive Officer Union Slovakia
Michal Špaňár has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Union, Achmea's insurance company in Slovakia, effective October 12, 2015. Mr. Špaňár brings more than 15 years of relevant industry experience, having previously served in different executive roles at ING Group, Allianz and other financial services companies.
Mr. Jack Buckens, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Union, is pleased to welcome the new CEO for Union and praises Mr. Špaňár’s trackrecord. “In the Czech Republic, Michal Špaňár helped to build ING into a market leader in employee benefits and in four years, transformed the largest Brazilian insurer SulAmerica in a modern financial enterprise.
