Lidwien Suur appointed to Achmea’s Executive Board

Lidwien Suur (44) has been appointed to Achmea’s Executive Board with effect from 1 September 2019. She fills the vacancy that arose following the departure of Roelof Konterman at the end of last year. Lidwien Suur’s responsibilities will include the divisions Non-life, Centraal Beheer and Interpolis.

Lidwien Suur was appointed director of ANWB in 2016 with her portfolio encompassing Finance and Strategy. Since early 2012, she was Managing Director of Unigarant and ANWB Insurance and joined the ANWB management board in 2014. Prior to this, Lidwien Suur held various executive positions at ING/Nationale-Nederlanden, including Director of Income Protection Insurance and Programme Director Strategy.

Experienced director

Composition of the Executive Board
With effect from 1 September 2019, Achmea’s Executive Board will consist of Willem van Duin (chairman), Michel Lamie (CFO), Robert Otto, Lidwien Suur, Bianca Tetteroo and Henk Timmer (CRO).

The appointment of Lidwien Suur has been approved by the Dutch Central Bank (DNB). Her appointment is subject to a positive recommendation by Achmea’s Central Works Council and will be discussed at the general meeting of shareholders.
