Marteyn Roose to be the new chair of the Centraal Beheer division

Marteyn Roose has been appointed chair of the Centraal Beheer division with effect from 1 September 2022. For the past five years he has been Director Retail at Centraal Beheer.

Marteyn Roose succeeds Albert Spijkman, who has held the position of chair since 2017. Mr Spijkman will become the chair of Achmea’s new Distribution, Innovation & Brands division.

Bianca Tetteroo, chair of the Executive Board, is delighted with both appointments: “Marteyn Roose has always been involved in the path followed by Centraal Beheer. His extensive knowledge and experience of marketing and sales, data analytics and customer focus provide great confidence for Centraal Beheer’s next step as a leading digital service provider.”

Ms Tetteroo continues: “Albert Spijkman has successfully led Centraal Beheer to a next phase by reinforcing personalised customer service and further developing services and innovation. With Albert’s appointment to his new position, we give shape to the acceleration of innovation and commercial effectiveness across the divisions and brands. Achmea completes acquisition of ABN AMRO Pensioeninstelling NV

Achmea and ABN AMRO have completed the acquisition of ABN AMRO PPI, which was announced in May. This means that the PPI is now part of Achmea. The transaction has been approved by the supervisory authorities and the works councils have issued positive advice. The 24 employees of the PPI will move to Achmea. The PPI will operate under the new name Centraal Beheer PPI.

This acquisition gives Achmea an entrance into the Premium Pension Institution (PPI) market and enables the financial services provider to respond to the opportunities offered by the Pension Agreement. Achmea’s ambition is to expand the PPI further over the next few years using Achmea’s comprehensive distribution network and by working closely with the professional pensions advisory market. The focus will be on employers who wish to offer their employees a defined contribution (DC) pension scheme. Under the new name Centraal Beheer PPI, services to existing customers will be continued and further optimised. In addition, Achmea expects to attract and retain new employers with its improved offer.

ABN AMRO PPI has been administering DC pension schemes since 2012 and as Centraal Beheer PPI currently has approximately 955 employers and approximately 190,000 members from the SME and major corporate markets as its clients. Assets under management total approximately €3.5 billion. The transaction is expected to deliver a modest book profit for ABN AMRO.

Albert Spijkman appointed Divisional Chairman of Centraal Beheer

Albert Spijkman has been appointed Divisional Chairman of Centraal Beheer with effect from 15 September 2017. He succeeds Pieter Louter, who recently moved to Achmea Canada.

In 2012 Spijkman joined Achmea as group director of Strategy, Marketing & Innovation. Before he joined Achmea, he was a partner at VODW Marketing for many years.

Pieter Louter of Centraal Beheer to move to Achmea Canada

Pieter Louter will be leaving his post as Divisional Chairman of Centraal Beheer on 1 September 2017. He is the intended CEO of Achmea Canada. Louter has been with Centraal Beheer since 1 July 2014. Prior to that, he was the financial director of Achmea’s International division for just over two years

Achmea intends to start up an online insurance business with a partner in Canada. Pieter Louter has been designated to lead this venture. It is important that he will be involved in the preparations and he will therefore shortly be leaving for Toronto in Canada.
