Achmea distributes capital to shareholders

Today, Achmea’s General Meeting approved the proposal to distribute capital to shareholders. On 11 September, Achmea announced this intention further to the results over 2019.

Given its healthy liquidity position and a robust solvency ratio of 204% at the end of June 2020, Achmea will distribute €169.3 million comprising:

-  a payout of 5.5%, totalling €19.6 million, on the amount paid-up on preference shares;
-  a payout of €149.7 million on the ordinary shares.

Achmea is the cooperative parent company of, among others, Centraal Beheer, Interpolis and Zilveren Kruis. In accordance with the dividend policy, the above distribution has been calculated at 45% of Achmea’s net profit for 2019 excluding the net results of the Health segment and after deduction of coupons on other equity instruments. The distribution results in a decrease of Achmea’s Group solvency position of 4 percentage points at the end of June 2020.
