Michiel Delfos will be appointed as a member of the Executive Board and Chief Risk Officer of Achmea with effect from 12 April 2022. He fills the vacancy that arose after Henk Timmer recently stepped down.

Broad experience in financial services
Bianca Tetteroo, chair of the Executive Board: “Michiel Delfos is a versatile director with considerable national and international experience in financial services. He also has extensive knowledge of risk management and compliance at complex financial institutions. I am proud that we are able to welcome someone from within our own organisation to the Executive Board and look forward to our cooperation.”

Jan van den Berg, chair of the Supervisory Board of Achmea: “In recent years, Michiel Delfos has made a very considerable contribution to the development and success of Achmea’s Non-life division. I am pleased that - with him - we are able to return the Executive Board to full strength. His appointment will lead to a good combination of expertise, experience, leadership skills and personalities on the Executive Board.”
