Robert Otto to step down from Achmea’s Executive Board in April 2027

Robert Otto will step down as a member of Achmea’s Executive Board at the General Meeting on 15 April 2027. After fourteen years with Achmea, almost twelve of which as a member of the Executive Board, his third term as a board member will come to an end.

Robert Otto has enjoyed a successful career at Achmea. He joined the company in mid-2013 as Chair of the Non-Life division. In August 2015, he was appointed to the Executive Board. Over the years, he held various portfolios in this role, including Non-Life and Pensions & Life. In recent years, Robert has been responsible for Health, InShared and for the international activities through the operating companies (OpCos) in countries including Türkiye, Greece, Cyprus, Slovakia and Australia.

Bianca Tetteroo, Chair of the Executive Board: “As a member of the Executive Board, Robert has made a significant contribution to Achmea’s international growth through his commitment and clear vision. This is one of the four strategic choices underpinning our Next Level strategy towards 2030, which will shape Achmea’s future profile and positioning. He has also led his areas of responsibility, Zilveren Kruis and InShared, with great passion. Robert has a keen eye for talent and has consistently encouraged colleagues to develop their skills and make the most of their potential. We are sorry that Robert will be leaving Achmea. At the same time, we look forward to continuing to work closely with him in the coming period.”

Jan van den Berg, Chair of the Supervisory Board: “Throughout his career, Robert has established himself as an entrepreneurial and relationship-oriented leader. We are particularly grateful to him for his significant contribution to Achmea’s international development and for the commitment he has shown to this. We wish him every success in the future.”

Robert Otto: “Looking back on my time at Achmea already, I feel a deep sense of pride and gratitude. For fourteen years, I have had the privilege of working with many dedicated and knowledgeable colleagues. Together, we have delivered strong results and taken important steps forward for Achmea. I will miss the company, and above all the people I worked with. At the same time, I look forward with confidence and curiosity to the next chapter and the opportunities it will bring. In the coming period, I will remain fully committed to Achmea and will ensure that my successor gets off to a good start.”

Further information on Robert’s successor will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
