Achmea’s real estate business has a new name: Achmea Real Estate

As of today, Achmea Real Estate will be the new (trading)name of Achmea’s real estate business.

Achmea Real Estate specialises in investing in real estate for the account and risk of third parties. The company works for institutional investors including Dutch pension funds, insurers and charitable institutions. Achmea Real Estate manages almost € 13 billion of residential, retail, healthcare and office premises on behalf of over thirty institutional investors. The aim is to double the assets under management tot € 25 billion by 2030. This is based on an updated and ambitious ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) strategy.

Revision of the Retirement Services strategy
Achmea has refined its Retirement Services strategy. Part of this is the decision to operate in four new clusters: Mortgages & Financial Services, Real Estate (= Achmea Real Estate), Pensions and Institutional Investing. This allows us to respond even better to the needs of our customers. Greater collaboration and synergy within the Retirement Services chain will accelerate the realisation of the strategic targets.

In this context, Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance B.V. is being legally demerged into different entities for real estate and morgages. This demerger will require a new AIFMD licence for the mortgage activities. We aim to implement the demerger during the second half of 2023.
